Zooming around a galaxy of possibility, exploring some important stuff, getting perspective and discovering something we could use immediately to improve things.
Ever had that longing to go on holiday? Get a break from it all?
One thing I’ve found valuable: getting physical distance from a problem gets us emotional distance from it as well. I think, whether we consciously recognise it or not, we get a lot from distancing ourselves from things when they get too much. It’s easier to process, get perspective (there’s a clue!), stop feeling so strongly about challenges. It’s easier to make better, clearer choices.
During Covid and lockdown times, it’s not always as easy as booking a ticket, packing and heading out the door. So, what can you do instead?
Fortunately, you can do this without physically going anywhere (although it’s still helpful). It can be as simple as just imagining the experience further away from you, maybe changing some of the sounds, or adjusting something else.
And, if you can do that in a little bit of time every day, those small differences, those moments where you actually do take care of yourself, can really add up.
A BIG thank you to Ellie and Lisa for providing the two ideas for our Adventure this week!
