How do you get from platitude to progress?

How do you internalise the essence, the meaning, and turn it into action and change?

Category:

How do you make progress? One step at a time, of course.

So what?

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Thanks.

Every journey begins with a single step.

Oh really…

We’ve heard sayings like these over and over, often used to point out something frustratingly obvious with hindsight, offering little real support.

Yet they hold truths, and can be helpful.

How do you get from platitude to progress?

How do you internalise the essence, the meaning, and turn it into action and change?

If only there was a way to apply the ideas underpinning them without feeling like an eejit …

Well, maybe, if it’s OK with you,

you can lie back,

get comfortable,

close your eyes —

and we’ll head off on an Adventure.

Up there, that gentle grassy hill, there’s a very comfortable bench.

The view is phenomenal.

From up here, you can see how you got here;

and, over there, way down there, what the future holds.

Did I mention it’s a very comfortable bench?

So comfortable, in fact, you can sit all the way down

and dream …

and the deeper you sit down, the lighter you feel, until

you can spread your arms and lightly, gently lift off,

floating up,

up,

up …

and the freedom you can feel,

soaring around on currents of air …

Within the MindSpa, a room for a little bird.

A busy bird, patiently building its nest.

How? What kind of nest?

I wonder what we can learn.

What just happened?  Little bird

———————

Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.

Little by little, the bird builds its nest.

It’s an old, French proverb, its meaning pretty obvious.

I think it’s also a lovely piece of imagery to start exploring more deeply.
